Stainless steel cable railing on a hillside deck overlooking a green Bay Area valley

Cable & glass railing — Castro Valley, CA

You paid for the view. Don't frame it in pickets.

We design and install cable railing and glass railing across the San Francisco Bay Area — on hillside decks, staircases, balconies, and pool patios. Stainless cable, solid posts, clean lines, and a railing that disappears when you look through it.

Who we are

A railing contractor, not a railing catalog.

Bay Area Cable Railing is based in Castro Valley, and we work all over the greater Bay Area — from ridgeline homes in the East Bay hills to rooftops in San Francisco and view decks down the Peninsula. Railing is the whole job, not a side line we picked up. That matters when the posts have to land on a slope, the stairs turn twice, or the inspector wants to see the math on cable spacing.

Every project starts with a site visit. We measure, look at how your deck or stair is actually built, and tell you straight what will work, what it will cost, and how long it takes. Then we fabricate and install it ourselves.

Why cable

Built for Bay Area lots.

Half the decks we work on hang off a slope. When the whole point of the house is the ridgeline, the bay, or the valley below, a railing made of two-by-twos and pickets is a wall. Cable keeps the sightline open from the kitchen window, the sofa, and the deck chair — and it holds up in fog, sun, and the occasional earthquake.

Maintenance is a garden hose and, once in a while, a quarter-turn on a tensioner. No sanding, no staining a hundred balusters.

Where we work

Sixty-plus cities, one crew.

Danville to Daly City, San Jose to Santa Rosa. If your project is in the greater Bay Area, we've probably built on a street like yours — hillside, flat lot, rooftop, or pool.
